About Us.

The Dominican Environmental Consortium (CAD) is a non-profit member organization, made up of government, non-government, and international institutions, linked to the environmental and natural resources sector. It promotes ecologically sustainable development, giving proper value to sociocultural traditions and encouraging community participation in environmental management.

CAD was founded in 1999, with the aim of being a Center of Excellence and Influence in decision-making in the country's environmental and natural resources sector.

The Dominican Environmental Consortium (CAD) is based on a solid foundation of values.

Philosophy.

The organizational philosophy of the Dominican Environmental Consortium (CAD) includes the Vision, the Mission, Managerial Values, Strategic Principles, and the proposal for the new Organizational Structure.

Vision.

To be the entity of excellence and recognized as a sustainable institutional platform, strategically executing projects and programs, through its partners and allies; that participates in national environmental policy and plays a leading role in the environmental conservation of the Dominican Republic.

Mission.

To improve the environmental quality and life of the population in the Dominican Republic; through the promotion and execution of programs and projects, founded on the experiences and capabilities of its partners and allies.

Our Services.

Through a network of specialists formed by our partners and strategic allies, we offer high-quality technical services in the environmental and natural resources area.

These services, depending on the area of expertise of the partner or ally, cover the topics of Biodiversity, Protected Areas, Environmental Education, Sustainable Agriculture, Ecotourism, and Coastal-marine ecosystems.

CAD works on the sustainable management of natural resources, focusing on ecosystem management and biological corridors for the Island, impacting the entire national territory. CAD's actions are carried out especially in protected areas and their buffer zones, but are not limited to these spaces.

CAD has influence in the areas of Samaná, Nagua, San Francisco de Macorís, Jarabacoa and Constanza, Villa Altagracia, Baní, San José de Ocoa, Oviedo, Barahona, Sierra de Bahoruco, Montecristi, Dajabón, and Santiago Rodriguez.
